Do you set New Years resolutions? I do. Many of them I keep (it was 4 years ago I decided to start working out. Look at me now 👌🏾). And some, I don’t. Like I made a resolution last year to dress nicer and I still wear yoga pants 92% of the time.
This year I have a few, here are the most important to me:

Writing about my anxiety helps me make light of daily stresses and feel more grateful. I was a little hesitant to publish this one, but here goes nothing:
Picture it: Huntington 2011 (i love golden girls 😂).
One of my first thoughts when i decided to hustle up some summer classes and finish my BS in chemistry a semester early was “I can’t wait until a life without homework”.
I hated college and vowed to never go back to school. Because it never ended – classes ran into other classes ran into study groups ran into labs. It was so much pressure, so many hours of dedication… ONE mistake could ruin everything back then. I was over it and I wanted time to live my life.
When I first started my first job as a chemist I was amazed at how nice it was to leave work – even if it was a long day … and be DONE until the next day. Or be DONE all weekend.
It was absolutely amazing to not have work following me around like a shadow. My anxiety was way down. Life was simpler.
Then i became a mom, which is like getting a PhD in overworking. It’s honestly like college on crack cocaine. Continue reading “I hated school because I never wanted to take work home.”
Yal I got diastasis recti. Bad. Again. Over 4 finger widths at my postpartum appointment. The midwife said PT or therapy and I knew I had to get my ish together.
I literally hadn’t been doing ANYTHING not wearing my binder not doing any exercises, nothing. I was bitter. It wasn’t fair I had to. I should enjoy this time. Blah blah blah all that ish sounds good on Instagram but the truth is I AINT TRYNA GET SURGERY. Continue reading “Postpartum fitness – the core”
This is not what it looks like.
But it does go where you think it goes 😂
This is the KGOAL – and it’s designed to help you kegal properly haha (and to make it fun!). All of us mommas, especially those of us who run, know how important pelvic floor strength is.
How’s it work? Well, it’s a device and free app that makes pelvic floor exercise fun and interactive. It gives you visual and tactile feedback and even has a diagram to show you how to properly engage your pelvic floor.
And it’s totally comfortable. It’s designed like a balloon or pillow – you can “deflate” it to insert and “inflate” to get the perfect fit for your body!
It’s a cool little device and I definitely suggest you try it. I cant wait to get back to using it after I’m all healed from Vivs birth.
Wanna try KGOAL? Get yours here!
If you know anything about me – it’s that I’m all about music. I never get tired of it and could listen all day long. So since I’ve found out we were having a baby – I have been on it as far as planning some labor playlists. I have two – one with upbeat songs and one with relaxing songs. Based off of my moods during labor with LB – this is what I’ll need haha.
I wanted to share what I have so far – but no judgement. Yal know I’m a ratchet.

Updating my maternity fashion! For past weeks click here and here
Basically still avoiding maternity jeans by buying skinny jeans a size up and using a belly band. I also wear a lot of leggings.

Guys, I had the most fabulous weekend! However, I am ready to never travel again LOL! It was my best friend of 17 years WEDDING! at VA beach. and I was her matron of honor 🙂
We left Thursday evening and headed down to Charleston, WV to stay with my parents. LB of course always has a blast being spoiled by them. The next morning we got up at 6 AM to head to the beach. We made it down around 2 PM to our air BNB – which was fabulous. The only issue was noise traveled easily from the upstairs unit – but I think we are just spoiled used to single family home living.
Anywho, after a shower and some rest we headed over to the rehearsal at 4 PM at the beautiful home the wedding was at. LB and Brian played in the sand/ocean until after the rehearsal, then we went inside and ate. Afterwards we went home, I washed and blow dried my hair and went to sleep – I was exhausted lol. I was up at 7 the next morning to get dressed and ready to take my best friend out to get our nails done. Then we went to the mall to eat and then get make up done and buy some last minute things. Brian was the real MVP here for keeping LB entertained basically ALL WEEKEND :).
Guys she looked AMAZING.
Absolutely dazzling. We were out long enough to make everyone nervous (got back to the house around 2 PM and the wedding was at 4). but I think she was glad to be away from the stress of setup.
It felt like old times, we were carefree and living life.
Anywho, wedding was beautiful. We had a great time and drove back all day Sunday.
This was one of the most fun, refreshing weekends ever.

Thought I’d post some more outfits!
Tried to wear maternity jeans this week and they kept sagging so it’s not time yet.
Weather has been super up and down but I’m enjoying dressing my little bump.
It’s fall break so no preschool (my usual blog time) so sorry for being MIA! More soon.
Since I finished LIIFT4 it’s time to pick a new program! I took last week off since I was in Orlando Thursday-Sunday for a leadership retreat (more on that later this week). I knew it was time to pick a new program, so I took a few things into account:
- Time. LIIFT4 was 8 weeks. I wanted to do something shorter than 8 weeks BUT with workouts around 30 mins or less a day.
- Meal plan. I’ve been following 2B mindset LOOSELY but I need something strict right now. I haven’t had my recommended amount of veggies in weeks. It’s time I get back at it.
- Limited core work. I won’t be able to lay on my back and do core work much longer.
- Not a lot of equipment – I want to do this in my bedroom so I don’t have to convince myself to go to the basement to get started. Continue reading “My next fitness program..”
Yal know my beezy bee is a picky eater, right? Always has been. And when I was his age I was too so I try to be understanding.
Today I told him we were going to start eating more fruits and veggies. Somehow, from that he translated that we were going to have blueberry cookies.
Soooo I took a peanut butter cookie recipe and modified it and added some blueberries.
About 1 cup peanut butter
1 tsp of Nutella
About 1/4 cup of flour
A splash of water
1 whole banana
