For some reason, builders of middle class homes in Lexington, KY always leave out a mud room. When you come into our house from the garage you walk basically straight into our kitchen. We have an entryway closet but it was always cluttered with junk. Brian and LB had an issue with leaving ALL their shoes in there until you can’t even see the floor.
All the coats were in there too. And anything we didn’t have a home for. I hated that closet – just a cluttered mess.
When quarantine hit and the gym closed, Brian told me he was gonna fix my closet. Continue reading “Entry closet redesign”
I’ve been cloth diapering for over a year now. And you know what the main thing Ive learned is?
That it’s not as hard as it seems. Honestly! I was so stressed about wash routines and types of diapers and building a stash and now… I grab whatever diaper is close to me, wash whenever I’m running out, fold whenever I have time (sometimes right before putting the diaper on Viv haha) and carry on.
Once the the anxiety of cloth diapering was gone, I realized how much easier it is than disposable diapering. Why?
1. No blowouts. Like zero. Continue reading “1 year of cloth diapers”
Well, I have a lot of thoughts about the state of the world but some of them are heavy. I don’t want to be heavy now, I want to be lighthearted. So if you’re home with bored young kids, here’s some fun educational activities you can do!

Why don’t we tell future moms the truth about motherhood?
I mean we may tell them you don’t get a lot of sleep at first, or that breastfeeding is hard, or that contractions hurt. But we don’t tell them the whole truth.
Why don’t doctors/lactation consultants/breastfeeding classes tell you nursing can hurt at first – even if you’re doing it right? Continue reading “The truth about motherhood”
I didn’t write a MLK day post yesterday. It’s a hard day for me – because it’s one of those days when it is SO in your face that black men are very seldom heroes to anyone but us until they’re murdered.
And it hurts. Continue reading “MLK day.”
Do you set New Years resolutions? I do. Many of them I keep (it was 4 years ago I decided to start working out. Look at me now 👌🏾). And some, I don’t. Like I made a resolution last year to dress nicer and I still wear yoga pants 92% of the time.
This year I have a few, here are the most important to me:

haha, not really – but we did hop on a flight for a trip last week.
It’s cold in Kentucky, and the days are short, and I spend most of my time inside. My mood has been up and down since having Viv and lately, I’ve felt really overwhelmed. It seems like anytime I’m doing something to help Viv, LB feels neglected or needs my undivided attention and vise versa. Continue reading “We got flewed out.”
I did it. I ran my race. That’s why I’ve been spotty with blogging and posting, and a big part of the reason I wasn’t coaching the past few months.
First I want to go over the race weekend, then how it differed from last year, then how I trained.
Soooo race weekend. The race this year was on 11/3, and 11/4 is LB’s birthday. (Last year race day WAS his birthday). So the day before the race he had a birthday party. That meant I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off the week prior and stressing that he had a good time. The party was a success saturday morning, and after going home to pack we started off to Huntington WV.
Logistically, I booked 2 hotel rooms in Huntington side by side so my parents could stay nextdoor. They kept the kids while we raced. We hit the hotel when we got into town and my parents and sister watched the kids while we went to pick up our race bibs.
Time falls back the night before the race (always) and that’s helpful if you DON’T have kids. Continue reading “2019 MU Half Marathon – I did it! I ran the race in 2:15!”
This was another question from my instastory Q&A earlier this week that I thought would be better as a blog. I get DMs with this question all the time, and I do answer to the best of my ability – but I wanted to spell it all out. I’m no expert but I don’t mind to share what I know 🙂
You can make money online. If you spend more than 3-4 hours on social media – there should be something in it for you financially. And there probably can be. There are 3 main ways to make money online – and most people combine these or progress from 1 method to another. I’ll go in the order of how I have progressed. Continue reading “How do you make money online?”
Earlier this week on my instastories I asked what you guys wanted to hear more about. This request was one I thought would go better as a blog – so I could refer back to it since this question comes up a lot.
Also…. for me if we ever decide to have another baby because after a couple years you TOTALLY forget.

Baby registries are overwhelming. First of all, EVERYONE has them. My favorite place to shop is amazon because I hate to leave my home haha so I suggest the Amazon Baby Registry.
