So as yal know, I bulk during the winter. I can’t waiitttt sometimes to start my winter body prep. I get to be pudgey. I get to add PB to my shake. I eat food on food on food. It’s lit. Yal it’s so lit.
Last year I started my bulk at the end of July/beginning of August. I gained around 20 lbs last winter.
I was thickathanasnicka and loving it yal. Couldn’t tell me nothing. Couldn’t tell me I couldn’t twerk. Couldn’t tell me I ain’t have a big ol booty 😂😂😂😂
This year? It’s November. I have gained about 2 lbs.
Let me explain tho! Here’s the mistakes I’ve made
- First and foremost, this isn’t a mistake but my bulk started much later. I started in October instead of August. I had planned on starting in September because I hated being more plump and growing out of my summer clothes when I still needed them. However in September I rank advanced (ayeeee go meeee I’m the ishhhhh) and got invited to the Diamond Retreat my team throws. Well, we were getting professional pics. I wanted abs for those pics (summer body photographs better LOL).
- Trying to skip out on buying more postworkout shake. Recover keeps me from being sore for too long, adds protein from 3 sources to my diet, and gives me what I need postworkout. Idk why I thought it was an option. It worked for me so well last year. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Ordered more and started last week.
- I’m eating a more plant based diet. I am, what you’d call, a “fair weather vegan.” Which fills me up super fast. Last year, I remember being super full and sometimes having to feel like I had over-ate too. I went by macro tracking last year. This year? I just been eating when I feel hungry. Therefore, not enough calories.
Anywho yal – I’m not really disappointed. I like being healthy. I just want to eat a healthy amount of food and feel good and lift heavy – and that’s what I’m doing now. However, I do like being a bit thicker so I may start tracking some after this week. We will see.
That’s the fun thing about this part of my fitness journey. Once you achieve health (for me that was not having to worry about being prediabetic anymore thank God) then you just treat your body good. You eat good foods, you get moving, you do the type of fitness that makes you happy and you maintain that health. At least, that’s what I’m doing.
Anywho, we will see if the booty returns this year or not. Either way, I’ll be enjoying this journey ❤️.
